What is it?
Get Outside Montana is a FREE multi-week, back-to-nature event for all ages. Families will engage in a little friendly competition as they explore Billings and surrounding area through activities such as hiking, biking, frisbee golf, scavenger hunts, camping and much more!
How does it work?
Teams must consist of at least one person over the age of 18 and one person under the age of 18.
Each week of the competition features several “guided” or “self-guided” events. A self-guided event allows teams to visit the designated park anytime during the 8-week event and engage in an activity on their own such as Frisbee golf or a scavenger hunt.
Each team will receive a passport which will be used to track teams’ participation in the competition. When teams check-in at each guided event, they are awarded a point for their attendance. Teams must provide proof of completion of self-guided park activities (e.g., a sketch or photograph) and will be awarded a point for each activity completed.

PRIZES
1st The Spoke Shop will outfit a family up to four with brand new bikes and $100 gift card from Montana Cycling and Ski
2nd Weekend raft/canoe or kayak rental for the family with trailer from Sunshine Sports and 2 free half day rafting trips from Absaroka River Adventures

Join us for an afternoon of activities, the perfect way to jump start your family’s competition! Each family who registers will receive a bag of information and goodies to help with the following 8-weeks of outdoor activities along with a FREE GOM t-shirt for each member of your team courtesy of Mosaic Threads!. The following activities will be offered: guided bike rides (bring your own bike), macroinvertebrate search, learn to pack a backpack and navigate like Lewis and Clark, make popcorn over the fire, play wildlife games and visit with special guest Smokey the Bear. Each activity your family does you get a point!
Door Prizes include: Family Membership to ZooMontana and the Audubon Center and 4 fleeces from Patagonia!
